You may not think of Russia first when you think of glamping. But believe me, Russia is such an underrated glamping destination.

Glamping or glamorous camping is getting more popular nowadays and Russia is picking up this trend very well. There are lots of glamping sites opening all over the country in the central areas but also in remote parts such as Altay and Siberia.

Top 7 Sites for Glamping in Russia

I have selected some of the best destinations in Russia for a true Glamping in Russia experience…

1. Polyana Glamping in Kaliningrad region

In the heart of Curonian Spit National Park and Kaliningrad region you can find the first and only glamping site offering accommodation in 10 luxury tents. 

The tents are equipped with queen size beds, orthopedic mattresses, electric blankets and an outdoor deck with a seating area. Bathrooms and showers are shared and located near the tents. On site you can find the restaurant, sports grounds and bike rentals.

The area is well-known for its sandy dunes and beautiful Baltic Sea coast with some of the nicest beaches in the region. The site is located only 35 km from Kaliningrad with plenty of attractions around, including Korolevskiy Bor, Dancing Forest, Fringilla Bird Ringing Station, Swan Lake and resort village of Lesnoy, with its walking areas, bars and restaurants.

2. Shanti Homes in the forests of St. Petersburg 

Shanti Homes are beautiful A-frame cabins located in the forest and near the lake just 100 km away from St. Petersburg. The cabins on the lake come in different colours and feature 2 floors with a double bed, sofa, hammock, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, seating area and a private terrace. 

Shanti Home offers some great activities on the site and close by. In summer, you can ride a bike along the forest trails, swim in the lake or go standup paddle boarding. In winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing. All year long, you can relax in an outside hot tub or spend time in a bathhouse on the shore with the view on the Vuoksa river.

3. Sfera eco-camping on Lake Pleshcheyev

Sfera is located in the most picturesque corner of Russia – Pereslavl-Zalessky on the shores of Lake Pleshcheyev and offers a wide range of glamping accommodation. You can choose between eco-tents, yurts, geo-domes and eco-huts. 

Yurt sleeps up to 3 and comes with a comfortable double bed and linen, a fireplace, an outdoor seating area. The bathroom is located outside.

Geo-dome is equipped with a comfortable double bed, a fireplace, bio toilet, large panoramic window, table inside and seating area with BBQ outside.

Eco-hut is a warm two-story house with a large window, gas heating, a seating area outside with a BBQ and can accommodate up to 4 people. 

Eco-tent is a spacious and comfortable tent located in pine forest and has a double bed, lighting, sockets, a seating area outside, mosquito net and its own BBQ area. The toilet is located outside close to the tent. 

The site offers plenty of activities on-site, including board games, beach volleyball, badminton, darts, boat rental service, sauna on the wood, kayaking, bike rentals, fishing and more.

4. Scala Glamping on the Black Sea

Scala Glamping is the first glampsite on the Black Sea in Krasnodar Territory and is an ideal spot for families with young children. 

The site offers accommodation in luxury safari tents. Each safari tent is located right on the beach and sleeps up to 4 people.  It has two bedrooms, comfortable beds, electricity and lighting, mosquito nets, fridge and a terrace overlooking the Black Sea. 

There are also less luxurious tents available for rent, as well as spots for campers. Near the beach is a common area for romantic evenings and a playground. The site has a restaurant Scala Grill Bar offering panoramic views and a cliff-side patio.

5. Chepoh Park Glamping in Altai

Cheposh Park is the first glamping site in remote Altay, located on the mountain river Katun’ in a forest. This remote site offers accommodation in beautiful wooden houses, from bungalows to small luxury villas. They are equipped with comfortable beds, bathrooms and a private deck overseeing the forest and river. 

On site you can find bike rental, BBQ, kids playground and pool. There is a restaurant with breakfast included in your stay and a beautiful russian banya you can sign up for.

Altai region is a truly unique place with a beautiful nature. If you are looking for an adventure, you can climb up the mountains or go rafting on river Katun. In the Soviet times the government leaders used to build their vacation home and dachas there.

6. “Forest and Sea” Glamping on Volga River

Forest and Sea is a unique glamping hotel located on an island on the Volga River around 170 km from Moscow, accessible only by boat.

This glamping hotel is open from May to September and offers accommodation in 9 safari tents, boat transfer from the Kalyazin to the hotel and back, 3 meals per day prepared by the chef and numerous fun activities.

You can also rent the whole site for a special occasion, such as wedding, birthday or a corporate event. There is a cinema, a library, hammocks all over the place, fireplace and a lounge area. Fun activities on-site include:  yoga, table games, playing music, kayaking and more. 

The scenery on the island by the lake and near the forest and the feeling of isolation on a separate island will get you in a special relaxation mood away from the city grind.

7. Guliai Gorod Glamping

Guliai Gorod is a glamping site on the shore of the river Oka just an hour drive from Moscow, which makes it a perfect spot for your weekend getaway.

Guliai Gorod offers a wide range of accommodation, including 1 or 2 bed tents, safari tents and eco capsules. The tents are spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need for your comfortable stay. The bathroom is located outside of the tents and shared. 

Eco capsules come with the double wooden bed, heating, AC, shower and toilet and a panoramic window. Some of the capsules have a fully equipped kitchen. Outside the capsules is a picnic area with BBQ.

While staying at Guliai Gorod you can relax at the beach or in banya, go hiking, play sports, go kayaking and more. There is also a children’s playground onsite. Oka river is a great place for some active rest and you can rent a boat or go rafting.
