page title icon The Best Glamping Namibia: Desert Hills Lodge

Planning a glamping trip to Namibia? If you’re looking to get away, explore Namib desert and have once in a lifetime glamping Namibia experience then look no further than Desert Hills.

Namibia has no shortage of natural wonders. Namib Naukluft National Park, located in one of the world’s oldest deserts Namib, boasts sand dunes, mountain ranges, stunning canyons and amazing wildlife.

Popo Falls are a series of beautiful water rapids of the Okavango River located at the entrance of the Bwabwata National Park with many campsites around and rich flora and fauna. Sossusvlei is well-known for its tallest and most beautiful sand dunes.

Spreetshoogte Pass is a road built by hand between Rehoboth and Solitaire, known for its sharp bends, steep gradients and panoramic views of the Namib desert. A must-visit is Etosha National Park, a wildlife park where you can see passing herds of game. The park boasts the wildlife – “big five” and hundreds of other mammal species and birds.

Kaokoland is one of the last wilderness parts of Namibia and it looks like 100 years ago with plenty of wildlife and Himba people who still remained unaffected by the modern world.

These are just some of the highlights of the beautiful Namibia. The whole country boasts stunning landscapes, wilderness areas, wildlife and no wonder glamping Namibia is so popular.

One of my favourite areas in Namibia is a Namib Desert with its stunning dunes, magnificent open spaces, rich wildlife and some amazing glamping sites offering luxury accommodation with many activities to experience the best of the area.

Desert Hills Glamping Namibia

Desert Hills is one of Namibia’s best glamping destinations and my favourite! Located in a secluded spot close to Sossusvlei in the southern part of the Namib desert, this amazing site offers scenic views and a complete peace and privacy.

The lodge offers accommodation in 18 luxury glamping huts. All huts are inspired by the huts of the ancient San people of the Namib and offer total privacy and tranquillity for their guests.

Guests can relax in the bar, have their meals in the breath-taking restaurants, or refresh themselves at the pool while overlooking the magnificent landscape.

Desert Hills Glamping Namibia Accommodation

Desert Hills lodge offers accommodation in 18 yellow-thatched huts, inspired by the ancient San people and well blended against the desert landscape.

Huts sleep up to 2 people and feature twin or double bed, full bathroom, air-conditioning, mini-bar and a patio with lounge area overlooking the desert landscape. Each hut faces east towards the stunning Namib sunset.

This luxury glamping Namibia site boasts a restaurant, bar, wine cellar, library, lounge area, swimming pool, fire pit and BBQ area.

A continental breakfast is included in the stay and available every morning. Meals are served in the lodge restaurant or on the terrace overlooking the Namib Desert.

Desert Hills Glamping Namibia Activities

Glamping Namibia wouldn’t be complete without some fun activities and you are in luck, because Desert Hills lodge offers some of the most exciting adventures during your stay.

You can enjoy plenty of hiking and walking trails around the lodge, enjoy nature drives in the area, explore the Namib Desert or take game drives at sister lodge We Kebi.

Desert Hills lodge is located close to Sossusvlei, from where you can enjoy endless dunes. The lodge organizes day trips to Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon, including lunch and refreshments.

There is so much to do in this amazing area. If you decide to stay at the lodge, you will enjoy your sleep and cuisine, relax and rejuvenate.

Guest reviews:

“We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst we explored sossusvlei. It was a good location to get out into the dunes. The huts and buildings are stunning and the views out are great – particularly for star watching in the evening. The food was nice and the staff very friendly.”

“Wonderful views from the lodge, staff was very helpful and friendly, food (game steak) was really juicy and spiced in a nice way. The housing is something special, and you just do not want to leave.”

“Rooms are well laid out and comfortable. Thatch roof gives a warm, cozy feeling, especially during winter. Huge bathrooms, and not to mention the views ! The kind of place you will visit over and over.”
