Categories overlap. A property can be near both a park and another attraction, so these percentages should not be added together.
| Natural features or attractions | 73% |
|---|---|
| State parks | 51% |
| National parks | 33% |
| Events such as festivals or races | 27% |
| Beaches | 16% |
| Amusement parks | 12% |
| None of these | 10% |
What can a traveler use this for?
Use the categories to frame a search, then check the actual address and route. A park name in a listing can refer to a wide area. Put the accommodation and the entrance or trailhead you plan to use on the same map. Ask the host about the final approach and the facilities at the unit you would book.
Keep access and accommodation as two separate checks. Being near a park does not establish permission to enter it, an available reservation or a route suitable for your vehicle. A furnished tent also needs its own bathroom, bedding and weather checks. Our accommodation planning guide helps you compare those details.
For a short stay, choose one main outing and a nearby fallback. Read the park's current visitor information before paying for lodging. Check your host's cancellation terms separately from any park reservation. These are booking questions to ask, rather than findings measured by the survey.

Methods and limits
The report is dated 3 October 2023. Its methods describe 488 online responses from the Glamping Americas contact list in July 2023, across operators, prospects and suppliers. The destination question appears in the current-operators section. The figure does not state its operator subgroup count; 488 must not be used as the denominator for converting these percentages to counts.
We checked all seven category values on printed page 9 and retained all seven, without rounding or combining them. Labels are lightly expanded for readability. The total survey sample is not a census of glamping sites. These values are historical and do not estimate today's market.
Scope: one complete destination-proximity figure from one primary study. The publisher's report library provides later editions for readers comparing periods. Check each edition's question and sample before treating a difference as a trend. Reference review due May 2027.
